In addition to the availability of open water diving opportunities, the Original Florida is the cave diving capital of the United States. We have the world's best freshwater spring diving sites year-round . Visibility usually exceeds an astonishing 200 feet. Special certification is required to dive in caves or caverns. Diving Courses are offered throughout the region. Dive excursions are available through local dive shops. Many springs emerge from an expansive, underwater cave system, which is interconnected through subterranean passages; Ginnie Springs is the most widely known. Other popular locations include Peacock Springs; Blue Springs near Madison; Troy Springs; Little River Springs; Orange Grove Sink; Royal Springs; Yana Springs; and Cow Springs, along with the Suwannee and Santa Fe Rivers.
